Meeting Kristina and Jonathan, for me, was meeting two kindred spirits! They’re adventurers. Whether scuba diving, cooking together, or geeking out over cosplay, they just want to soak in the joy and blessing of every moment. I love that about them. So our exploration of Providence Canyon together (amazing location idea on their part, right?!) certainly wasn’t their first adventure, and it won’t be their last…
One of my favorite details, their relationship began through photography when a brave little Kristina asked to take Jonathan’s portrait. She thought he was cute, and that’s how the journey began for them all the way back in kindergarten! (Wow!) As a result, there’s a depth of experience and matured trust between them that’s perhaps beyond their years. They’re like old souls (who still look young and stellar in photos! lol), and you can feel their connection in the air when they look into each other’s eyes.
(Congrats, Kristina and Jonathan. We can’t wait to celebrate your wedding!) Now I want them to share their story in their own words. So here it goes…
“We met in kindergarten at St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School and were in the same homeroom KA, but our first real interaction occurred in the second grade when I asked Jonathan to take his picture on Picture Day because I thought he was cute. We got closer in the third grade, becoming best friends while playing Star Wars at recess (air lightsaber swinging included) and eventually turning into childhood sweethearts. From that point forward, we stayed together as a couple exclusively and without any breaks. We’ve attended elementary, middle, and high school as well as several years in college together.”
“Jonathan at first comes across as very quiet, but when you get to know him more, he’s one of the kindest, cleverest, and most comical people you can meet. He puts others before himself because he wants to be considerate in how much he cares. One of the most amazing things is that while he’s my fiance, he’s also my best friend. He knows all of my quirks and accepts every one with love. He’s wonderful at design and has a sharp eye for detail. He loves adventures and challenges. He also enjoys teaching others and has a profound patience as he always believes in you and wants you to succeed. Every day he tells me how beautiful I am, and wants me to believe in myself. He feels and loves deeply and is incredibly gentle. Jonathan is very intelligent and perceptive and amazes me with his creativity, understanding, and care. He’s the best man I could’ve asked for, and I’m so honored to call him my future husband.”
Thank you for these wonderful pictures, Phillip! We had an amazing time doing the shoot and working with you in the canyon – it certainly was an adventure that we enjoyed! We love our pictures and can’t wait to show them off!
