susan & craig in extra innings | encore session

Filed in:

tracking down great shooting locations in unfamiliar territory is always a challenge — especially when visiting any sleepy town, usa. however– after a couple fuel-efficient scouting runs in the ol’ hybrid blume mobile — scottsboro, alabama, really showed up with its game-face on. from historic buildings and antique murals hidden in unexpected corners, to a roadside marsh and an amazing hilltop panorama we found tucked behind a half-complete subdivision, eileen and i were pleasantly surprised by the town’s superb offerings. even the local ball field, where susan grew up playing softball, made its way by special request into the diverse scenery of this encore session.

we were really pleased with the results — some that you’ve already seen, and more here for your viewing pleasure. let this be a lesson to you: never judge a town by its highway strip. there’s always more below the surface, just waiting to be photographed! in this case, photographed very early in the morning — in time for sunrise the day after their wedding. kudos to you for that, susan and craig (even if a certain groom did wake up just five minutes before time to start). 😉
