admittedly, these are quite a lot more images than i should post for a simple “sneak peek.” but, hey — i think it’s my prerogative in this case. after all, this particular wedding meant something more to me. without hesitation, i can say i’ve never been so happy or honored to document a wedding day as i did this saturday, october 19 — the wedding of my own baby sister, mary elizabeth (“mez”) to her british beau, gordon stead.
the wedding took place in their current home town, a little place called london, england. you may have heard of it. eileen and i were here earlier in the summer to photograph another wedding, and were so grateful to have that personal time with mez and gordon as they prepared for the big day. we couldn’t be happier about the perfect match they are together, about having gordon now as a brother, and i couldn’t be prouder of my little sis’. our family hopped the pond together to be here for the wedding. we reluctantly return home tomorrow. the week has been full of unspeakable joy — especially at witnessing all the love and support mez and gordon have here in london thanks to their amazing friends and (now shared) family. we feel completely a part of that extended family now, and we already can’t wait until the next time we can all reunite around this uniquely wonderful couple.
congratulations, mez and gordon. enjoy the northern lights, and we’ll see you for christmas!
..and may i introduce the blume siblings? so proud to be one of this crazy crew. yes, i’m the only boy among a lot of gals. definitely the odd man out. but i like to think it was good for me in the long run. despite years of being made to play with barbie dolls or dress up in tutus, i guess i turned out as normal as one can hope.
These are amazing. I’m so happy for my sweet friend. What a wonderful family and crowd of people all around. Miss you all dearly. Just awesome pictures. Love it.
