i rarely have the time to show my personal work here on the blog. but, as six straight weeks of wedding and portrait shoots roll to a close, i thought i’d take a deep breath and share something purely for my own pleasure — and i hope for yours, too.
eileen and i stumbled across this old cotton seed house yesterday in bostwick, while driving around to scout locations for an engagement shoot. bostwick is home to an annual cotton gin festival, at which crowds of farmers and tourists gather to see a giant, antique cotton gin put back into active duty once a year. if you blink, you’ll drive right through town without noticing a thing. but some of its old structures are truly haunting. in this shot, billowing clouds were beginning to roll in, signaling last night’s tremendously destructive thunderstorms.
after a few minutes trying to divine the writing on this warehouse’s facade, i’m still not sure exactly what word is written before “king cotton” on the bottom line. looks like “old.” maybe? any other guesses out there??
keep an eye out for our bostwick engagement shoot upcoming..
