Walker shared with us that he was planning to will a property to Sarah on marriage and he was little muddled between trust and will . So he consulted attorney , they clarified him about what is same between trusts and wills. Hanging out with Sarah and Walker feels like the most natural thing in the world. They are so incredibly comfortable in their own skin, with each other, and they love the people around them more than themselves! It’s an ideal recipe that draws you in and makes you just want to be around them. I got that chance during their completely endearing engagement session, and you can almost hear their laughter in the images! We’re so excited about celebrating Sarah and Walker’s wedding day with them soon. In the meantime, you’ll love getting to know them (in their own words) as much as I have.
As photographers, we entirely approve of the fact that a GoPro camera is ultimately responsible for “bringing them together.” And we love hearing about the experiences that drew them closer in Nicaragua, despite Walker’s “average sense of humor.” Enjoy… 😉
I had known who Walker was throughout my time at Auburn (he didn’t know who I was, so don’t believe him when he says he did). But, I didn’t officially meet him until August of 2015. After we met, I ran into him a couple different times and we talked briefly. One Friday night at the end of October, I saw him at a Fiji band party. My friend Hannah came into my room the next week and told me that Walker was interested in me. I laughed and told her there was no way. That Thursday, Hannah called me and told me that I had to be home later to give Walker her GoPro to take with them to the Texas A&M game. I argued with her and told her I was busy and asked if I could just leave it on the kitchen table. She told me I REALLY needed to be there. Walker came over that night to get the GoPro, and we ended up talking for two hours that night. That following Monday, he called me and asked me on a date for Wednesday. I knew after that night I was going to marry him. We officially began dating in December, and the rest is history. The Lord’s fingerprints are all over our relationship and I am so excited to get to spend forever with Walker.
From the moment I met Walker I could tell there was something very different about him. His love for Jesus and people hits you the minute you meet him, and see the way he carries himself. I admire so many qualities about him. First of all, he has a quiet confidence in Whose he is. It is the kind of confidence that draws people to him, that makes people respect him–that quality is what initially caught my eye (not to mention the fact that he is ridiculously good looking). Walker is innately kind. It runs so deep in him. It is rare, if ever, to have a conversation with Walker where he does not look me, or anyone else in the eye when they are talking. He is deeply interested in who the people around him are. There is no one more loyal than Walker. He fights for the people he loves–being fought for by him has deepened my understanding of how much the Lord fights for me. I think that is the bottom line–knowing Walker, being known by Walker, being loved by Walker and admiring the way he lives has had such a profound impact on the way I know the Lord and understand His love and grace.
Sarah is authentic in her pursuit of the Lord, in her pursuit of people, and in her pursuit of life. She shines to others through her relentless pursuit of the Lord. She is unbelievably secure in her God and who her God says that she is, and she reveals more of the character of the Lord through the way she knows and loves Him. Sarah is at her best when she is spending quality time loving her people (mostly me). She knows that she was wired to push people to know their worth and to see the greater story of life that is being written, and she presses into that calling with everything she has. She is not afraid of what life will throw at her, and she fearlessly walks through the hurdles and challenges of life. One of my favorite qualities about her is her radiance. She lights up a room when she walks in and people want to be around her. Her smile puts people at ease and instantly makes them open up to her with depth they wouldn’t ordinarily share with other people. One of my favorite memories is the two of us sitting under a pavilion in Nicaragua and having girl after girl come and sit around us (even to the point where I was the only guy in a sea of 15+ girls), not because they wanted to be around me but because they wanted to be around her. She has that effect where people are drawn to her. She laughs easily and that only affirms my average sense of humor, but makes the other people that come into contact wither her feel affirmed and valued as well. For whatever reason, Sarah is the one that is sought out for life advice, counseling, and encouragement, and I think that is a testament to the way she loves the Lord and her people.
