What began as stolen glances across the halls of their Georgia High School has become stolen hearts across the hills of Tennessee. It took six years and a cross-state move to rediscover one another – but it only took one date to know that it was worth the wait.

When Eileen and I asked Marisa what made her excited about marrying Cory, the list was too long for a blog. So here are some highlights:

“He is my absolute best friend and the love of my life! I want to tell him everything, whether good or bad.”
“He is a true partner, allowing me to be independent and a complete equal.”
“He is incredibly thoughtful and selfless, always focusing on what I may need or little things that make me smile.”
“He is a complete goofball and we spend all day laughing together.”
“We adventure together and enjoy such small little moments together.”
“I could listen to his history tangents all day long.”

And apparently, Cory loves talking about Marisa as much as he loves talking about history. Here’s what he had to say about her:

“I would describe her as the most inspiring, intelligent, strong-willed and supportive woman I’ve ever met. She motivates me every day to act like and become a better version of myself, without making me feel like I have to change in order to measure up to anything. She’s brilliantly smart, wildly independent and incredibly capable, which lets me know that she choose to love me instead of needs to love me. I love laughing with her or sitting in silence with her – she listens to me ramble, trusts my gut instincts and reminds me every day to keep praying. Every day I spend with her is another day that proves to me Marisa is the one I want beside me for the rest of my life.”

We are so excited about their wedding, and look forward to seeing this couple start their next adventure together as husband and wife!
