soon, a day will come when katie and josh will be able to say, “we can’t remember what life was like before tripp. it’s as if he’s always been a part of our family.” isn’t it amazing how a baby can go from filling up his mom’s belly to filling up a tailor-made space in his family’s heart?

eileen and i dropped in on katie and josh at their apartment last week after forces of nature had us reschedule their maternity session — once because of bad weather, and again because of an internal storm that baby tripp kicked up, causing mom to feel lousy and to get a razor nick on her tummy. well, as you will see, katie has one of the best lookin’ pregnant tummies a mother could hope for, so we couldn’t stand for that. when we did finally make it to these once college sweethearts’ abode, the timing couldn’t have been better. the nursery was complete and perfect, and both mom and dad were in high spirits and full of energy! and with only weeks until tripp arrives, everything came together just right.

to find ourselves preserving these precious moments in katie and josh’s lives is a sheer honor. but getting to spend a little time with these two incredibly warm, musical, loving parents-to-be was an even greater honor. tripp has a very good thing comin’ to him. so do katie and josh. congratulations, you two!

and before tripp, there was…

…tiger. normally, tiger (an important member of the family in his own right) is strictly forbidden from the baby crib he loves so much. but we made an exception this once. after all, it was his last chance to enjoy it before the new kid claims his territory.

growing into a fine young man himself, josh was making sure he measured up as a new father. with a fun-loving personality like his, he’ll do fine.
