okay, i know i should be really excited for jessica and andrew. they’re both fantastic people with a huge love for one another, a strong faith, the support of wonderful families, and everything else they need for a terrific life together! i know they’ll be very happy. but i just can’t get past this one thing — they make me feel sooo old! that’s because i actually taught jessica’s brit lit class her senior year. in high school. yeah, i know. eileen and i are just registering for our first baby diapers and i’m wondering if i should add a few boxes of Depends onto our registry, too.
in reality, i’m super excited to see what God has in store for these two crazy kids. an adventure, i think. full of fun, travel, service, hard work, and the comfort of just having each other there during the quiet moments. (just don’t start having any babies too soon. it’ll probably kill me!) 😛
as i told jessica’s mom before the ceremony, andrew really lucked out in snagging jessica. she’s kind, brilliant and — as one groomsman put it when andrew asked how she looked in her dress, “man! if you don’t marry her, i will.” but i think jessica lucked out as well. during the time we’ve spent together, i’ve been extremely impressed with andrew as a man. he’s the kinda guy you want to emulate. the way he carries himself, his attitude, his speech. together, it looks like these two are gonna do just fine. well, see for yourself…
