we’re so proud of our big little girl. already 13 months old, and still barely 18 pounds. but what jazz lacks in size, she makes up for in personality. she is incredibly happy go-lucky. if she isn’t belly-laughing, she’s usually pretending to laugh. she’s suddenly walking everywhere. she’s fascinated by the tiniest of things, anything she can pinch between her fingers and investigate. she loves to throw herself onto a pillow and roll around giggling. she d

rinks imaginary tea from her tea cups, then lets out a refreshed-sounding “ahhh.” because her stuffed animals won’t wave back to her, she shakes their paws and repeats, “hi there.” she rarely throws a tantrum, but she can do it with the best of ’em. she loves her sleep, which is great when we need extra time to edit photos. if she wakes up early, we can hear her talking sweetly to herself and playing until the minute nap time officially ends, then she calls us. her ever-expanding vocabulary (which she seems to use in the right context most of the time) includes: “bye bye,” “dog,” “here ya go,” “all done,” “daddy,” “momma”.. well, the list goes on. she uses “bird” for any word she doesn’t yet know. she would live on grapes and cheerios alone if we let her. she knows how to use my cell phone and iPad better than i do. she already thinks every TV and monitor should have a touch screen. oh, and she dances. and sings. she dances and sings like crazy! i’m talkin’ booty-shakin’, hip-giratin’ dances that she better forget when she gets older. when any music comes to an end — even the background music in a retail store — she applauds. she keeps us smiling like nothing else ever could. she is our joy and God’s greatest blessing to us.
