We’re featuring some of our favorite wedding vendors on the blog and first up is Jackson & June Events. We’ve loved working with them at weddings over the years, and we can say with confidence that they are some of the best wedding planners and coordinators in the greater Atlanta area. Today, owner Sammy Kesner is sharing about the vision behind Jackson & June Events…
My name is Sammy Kesner and I am the owner and lead planner at Jackson & June Events, a full service wedding planning company based in Monroe, GA. I’ve spent the last 3 years growing and loving this little business baby of mine and I’m still amazed that I get to do this for a living.
Our team of five (two owners, two coordinators, and one administrative assistant) offers a variety of event services: from day-of event management, to event design and rentals, to full service wedding planning. We serve down to earth, fun loving couples in Georgia and beyond.
J & J was born because I couldn’t understand why my friends hated wedding planning so much. You get to throw a dance party for your favorite people, make spreadsheets, AND marry your best friend?! Count me in. And sure enough, I loved every minute of planning my own wedding. Now, as a certified wedding planner, my goal is to make sure you feel all the wedding feels, from the moment you say yes until the moment you say I do!
See, in my eyes wedding planning should add to the joy of being engaged, not take away from it. So we pride ourselves in making the process fun and easy, not only by being your planner, but your cheerleader and friend. We come to every meeting with an agenda and a light-heartedness that we hope will make you feel at ease and know that your wedding is in great hands.
Organization is another big pillar for us here at J & J. There are A LOT of moving pieces when planning a wedding so organization is a must. We use a series of tech and software programs to help us stay on track. We use Calendly for scheduling, Aisle Planner for event management, Timeline Genius for generating timelines, Rock Paper Coin for invoices and online payments, and good ole Google Docs for note taking. We do everything online, so it’s easy as pie for our couples!
Although organization and tech are essential in wedding planning these days, I think the thing that really makes us unique is our relatable and collaborative approach. It takes an entire team to produce and bring a wedding vision to life. From the couple, to the caterer, to the florist, to the photographer (etc.) it’s all hands on deck. So from the very beginning we like to highlight the fact that we’re in this together. We often send emails to entire vendors teams throughout the planning process just to make sure everyone is on the same page. And on wedding day we bounce around from the couple to each vendor to double check that everyone has what they need. It’s the oil that keeps the machine going.
