meeting brittany was a kind of happy accident. well, a calculated happy accident, i suppose. a lot of people ask eileen and me what kind of advertising we did to get our business going so strongly in such a short time. the truth is, we don’t pay for any traditional advertising if we can help it. that’s just one more cost we really don’t want our clients to be affected by. however, we did attend one bridal show late last year.
the show was small, and participation was less than one-third the cost of larger wedding shows in our area. besides, the show was taking place at the georgia club, where we were scheduled to shoot gavin & lindsay’s wedding. it was the perfect chance to scope out the venue beforehand. so we threw together some book samples, a couple of ottomans we use as makeshift chairs, a basket of leftover chopsticks we gave out as favors at our wedding, and off we went!
lucky for us, brittany’s mom passed through the club that day. she walked up to our booth (here’s a picture of it), pulled up an ottoman, and began embarrassing us with all her kind words about our photography. whether she was shopping or just shooting the breeze, we couldn’t have cared less. she was so warm and pleasant to speak with, and — as i said — incredibly flattering. (and who can’t do with a little ego-boost now and again, right?) we were so pleased when her daughter brittany called us up to schedule a consultation.
equally warm and so much fun, brittany and eric are a super-cool couple. along with their beautiful dog, they’re already a big happy family! i was astounded by how gung-ho they both were to do anything to help us make some great images! (just imagine these two fording a fast-moving river and climbing a waterfall under a cloud of mosquitos to reach our destinations. these two did it! look out for their upcoming slideshow to see some of the “action.”) we can’t wait to meet the rest of your families and to celebrate your marriage soon, you two. until then, happy planning..

Just too cute. Have shown pictures to every one at my office and

Premature grey hair is a Pinkard family gene….. Looking forward to seeing you end of June. Brit you are a lovely addition to our family.
