lindsey and i go way back. when we were in sunday school together as kids, i had a slight speech impediment and thought her name was lindsey “golf.” i logically assumed, then, that her dad (then georgia bulldogs coach ray goff) also coached golf at the university. (still not as bad as my friend named “ash;” i couldn’t pronounce “sh,” which got me into a bit of trouble.)
i knew lindsey as that outgoing, always smiling, down-to-earth, friend-to-all kinda girl. she was also reliable and fiercely loyal, which explains why she hasn’t changed a bit. it also explains why her and aaron’s marriage is sure to prove itself uniquely strong. i met aaron during college years. he is a rare equal for lindsey’s passion, energy, and downright wholesome goodness! since we too often walk in different circles now, i didn’t know right away that lindsey and aaron were dating, much less engaged. when i heard the news, it struck me as such an obvious match. i had to let out a little whoop! just thinking about the deep love and God-honoring service these two, with their forces combined, were about to unleash on the world. seriously, i’m talking superhero strength stuff here! (as an aside, i don’t typically “whoop” to express joy. however, i do closely associate aaron with whooping and grunting as a form of communication. i think he must have worn off on me enough that it naturally just slipped out.) 😉
did i mention these two are also extremely adventurous? most couples realize that our shooting style likely will carry us to an unexpected location or two. but i’ve never seen another bride ride piggy-back on her groom to cross rough terrain, or drive recklessly through the forest on her atv to be sure we reach every location before the ceremony. i’m telling you, these two are my heroes!
the glorious southern wedding took place on family land. i got to explore the couple hundred acres for photo possibilities earlier in the week. both lindsey and i found ourselves in tick beds at different times, but it was the perfect setting for great image-making and a whole lot of fun!
best of all, at “you may now kiss your bride,” lindsey and aaron shared their first kiss EVER! and believe me, they did it right. (in fact, they spent the rest of the evening making up for lost time. i’ve never had so many great kissing images to choose from!)
we love you two, lindsey and aaron. we know you have so much goodness in store. congrats!
