congratulations, meredith and john, on your engagement.. err.. marriage! sorry, folks — i’ve confused you, i know. this particularly pleasant shoot was indeed an engagement session. however, the lovely couple you now see on your screen are newly wed! well, that is to say, they were engaged when we took these images. i mean, they didn’t actually get engaged while we were taking the pictures. but they didn’t get married either.. during the pictures.. or any time before then. okay, my head is starting to hurt. let me just start over here.

eileen and i were very excited when john contacted us about photographing a special engagement session for him and his bride-to-be, meredith. at that time, all their wedding plans were already finalized, all their ducks were in a row, and they were pretty much just biding the time. in fact, their wedding date was less than two weeks away! then they stumbled across us online, and decided they simply couldn’t miss the opportunity to experience this kind of unique engagement shoot together. and engagement shoots are always an awesome experience — something like vogue cover shoot meets childhood playground romp meets first date butterflies. indescribable really. a lot of fun, for sure. and totally worth preserving as part of a budding family’s new history together.

meredith and john epitomized the kind of people who make our job such a joy! they’re totally positive, up for anything, excited to create something artistic and personal, and — of course — so blatantly and unashamedly in love with each other. doesn’t get any better.

so, there you have it. just one precious week before their wedding, and meredith and john were cool enough to spend part of it playin’ around at the botanical gardens with a couple goofballs like us.. err, i mean.. with a goofball like me, and with my completely non-goofball wife, eileen. 😛  we had a great time getting to know you guys, meredith and john! congratulations to you again. you have a LOT to look forward to. we’re so happy we could be part of it. 🙂
