it’s a bird. it’s a plane. no, it’s… ricky!? that’s right. if you happened to be in downtown athens during this recent senior session, and you thought you saw someone leaping over monuments in a single bound — well, that was probably ricky. (or you should see a shrink.) the folks huffing and puffing to keep up were eileen and i. sure, i do more than my share of climbing and hustling to get the shot. (no, not that kinda “hustling.” not usually.) but i forgot how much energy and athleticism a high school guy can bring to the table. still, it definitely made for a thrilling — and exhausting — photo shoot.

of course, when ricky wasn’t dismounting from monuments and vaulting brick walls, he was able to transform himself immediately into a calm and cool GQ model. then again into a wise-cracking stand-up comedian. we felt so entertained, we probably should have paid him for the show. ricky is so confident and has such a wide array of talents, i had to ask him if he ever had given acting a try. big surprise: he has recently been working on his first role for tv. don’t know what the show is yet; but, if it features ricky enough, it will definitely be entertaining! i can’t wait to check it out!

so next time you see someone flying over the streets of downtown, look to see if he’s wearing sunglasses. that’ll be ricky. yep, his future is that bright. congrats on your senior year, ricky! make the most of it!
