there’s something unique about the south. take it from me. after traveling all over the world (and i mean a lot of traveling), i haven’t found anything to rival the south’s indefinable charm. there’s a lot of beauty out there, to be sure. but that charm keeps drawing me back. it’s a charm that katherine and craig’s wedding — set at the historic henderson village in (very southern) perry, ga — had in spades!
of course, it wasn’t just the wedding. this bride and groom are incredibly charming themselves. what, with all their cutting up and playful banter — ever since eileen and i observed them during their engagement session, we were charmed by the fast friendship that undergirds their love. craig is an old friend and high school classmate of mine. and i can’t describe how happy i am to see him finally married to such a great girl. and katherine is great. sharp, too. the kinda girl craig needs to keep him in line. 😉
craig and i used to work together building pools for my dad during the summer. i remember listening to country music while craig and i shoveled one particular 500-degree crater. i think it was a song by tim mcgraw: “i wanna live where the green grass grows… every night be tucked in close to you. raise our kids where the good Lord’s blessed,” then something about sitting in rocking chairs and growing old with someone you love. beautiful lyrics. craig commented on how good that sounded to him. i had to concur. it’s hard to believe that we’ve both found such a good thing now. a real southern dream. like i said, charming. just charming.
congrats again, you two. enjoy the green grass.

Great pics! I think the one with the fountain and the couple in the background is my favorite! I liked the one with the guys in the tree and wondered how you got them to climb it but it the branches were actually close to the ground right?
Great pictures! Though where’s the one from “behind” the scenes???
so, i’m pretty sure i’ve looked at these a million times! i love them! yall always capture some funny (it never fails you catch me when i have my mouth wide open, maybe i should work on not doing that =]), and of course beautiful moments. can’t wait to see them all, and put them up at our new place for everyone to see!
