as you may know, eileen and i recently returned from a visit to guatemala, where we were shooting footage for a documentary-style film. (we’re hoping to complete post-production by february; so keep an eye out for it!) after a week exploring the darker side of guatemala’s city streets, with its broken homes and broken hearts, we were refreshed to spend a day with the hardemans, the family behind engadi ministries, which is working to provide an education and future to at risk boys living in gang-controlled slums. words can’t express our love and gratitude for this family! (not only were nathan’s heart and vision for the boys of guatemala inspiring to us, but so were claudia’s culinary masterpieces.) you’ll get to know this family a lot better after our film is complete, but — sadly — you will never taste claudia’s cooking unless you go to guatemala and lend them a hand! now, if that doesn’t animate you to buy your ticket, perhaps nothing can. and if you can’t go, give! seriously, if you’re deciding which charity to encourage with some extra holiday cheer this month, i can’t recommend this one enough.
of course, what better shoot location than unesco world heritage site, antigua!? what a beautiful city! so until you visit the engadi refuge yourself, enjoy the pictures!
Phillip & Eilen,
Thanks again for all you guys did here in Guatemala. Without your professional ability, these photos would be no where near this quality regardless of the beautiful backdrop Antigua provided.
Not only are the pictures awesome, the fun afternoon of shooting them was a special blessing. It was cool to be in the spot light for a couple hours. I wish I could read everyone’s thoughts that walked by and stared at the circus of cameras, flashes and deflectors moving through the streets.
I highly recommend the Blumes for any photography work you may need done!
God bless, Nathan
Great pictures of a beautiful family–who are as beautiful inside as out. I might be a little prejudice since I’m Nathan’s mom!
Beautiful photos. Beautiful family. Beautiful vision, Nathan.
Once again, I am in awe of the creative talent both of you possess! Gorgeous shots of a gorgeous family!
