We’re especially excited to share the publication of Mallory & Eddie’s wedding in the current Georgia issue of the Knot Magazine. This was a long time coming! Let me explain. All of the couples we photograph are thrilled when their weddings are featured in print; but it’s usually a huge surprise, no expectations on their part. Mallory, on the other hand, told us from the start how she had dreamed of having her wedding featured in her favorite wedding mag, the Knot. That’s a tall order–but no pressure! It’s only the no. 1 most popular wedding publication, with virtually all engaged couples consulting its pages. Thousands of weddings are submitted here every quarter, and even the most beautifully photographed ones get turned down.
After the wedding, we submitted these images both to the Knot and to Destination I Do (a popular national magazine for destination weddings). Destination I Do called back right away, wanting to run the wedding in a one-page feature. That’s where we made a tough call. Do we go with the sure bet, or wait and see if Mallory’s dream unfolds somehow on the pages of the Knot? Well, we took a deep breath and passed on the first offer, then waited to hear from the Knot. A couple months later.. well, you know the rest of the story. Not only did they pick up this gorgeous celebration, but they made it their primary featured wedding–five full pages, plus the table of contents, in the most coveted wedding mag you could hope for. Nobody gets that!!
We loved getting Mallory’s call when she saw it, literally crying with joy. It really is a beautiful spread. As if that weren’t enough, Mallory and Eddie’s images also won an international print award from PPA, and were featured inside and on the cover of Shutter Magazine, a monthly trade publication for photographers with over 80K active subscribers. Wow! Well, if anyone deserves it, it’s Mallory and Eddie–and the other talented wedding professionals who made this a celebration worthy of the love it represents. Cheers to them all!
