we found it waiting in our mailbox this morning. and you’ll be able to peek behind its gorgeous glossy cover any day now. just keep an eye on the newsstand, the grocery store checkout, or your Barnes & Noble bookstore. there you will find us, featured on page 70 for jessica & joseph’s “real wedding!”
having our photography chosen for publication, among countless submissions, is always an honor. having it chosen by the Knot — when we didn’t even make an entry for publication — is a huge thrill! as anyone who’s been involved in a wedding during the last decade will tell you, the Knot is kinda a big deal. it’s been heralded as the “holy grail” of wedding resources by the New York Times; Vogue called its web site “the chicest in cyberspace;” Time named it one of the top lifestyle publications; and its print editions are the most popular wedding magazines in the country. over a million engaged couples refer to the Knot each year to help plan their weddings. so, yeah, it’s a good place to be. might even inspire us to submit more of our imagery for publication in the future (if only we could find the time!).
speaking of time, once you’ve snatched up your copy of the Knot (spring/summer 2012 issue), turn back just one page from our feature. if you walk in our circles, you may be as shocked at what you see as we were! eileen’s friend melissa is the bride in the “real wedding” feature next to ours! when she and thea got engaged, they immediately called us up and asked us to be their photographers for this wedding as well. sadly, we were already booked for a wedding out-of-state that weekend. it still makes me feel sick; then fate and the Knot just had to rub it in our faces. 😛  actually, we were thankful we could refer them to my pal matt altmix and his wife kate, who happen to be very talented photographers. clearly, they did a beautiful job. congrats on the feature, guys! and thanks for doing such awesome work for melissa and thea; we knew you would!
in other news, eileen and i will make an appearance at our first wedding show ever: the georgia bridal show in athens, january 29. we’re already gearing up for it and planning our booth. we’re looking forward to meeting more artists and vendors in our area, and — provided this post-Thanksgiving rush doesn’t fill our calendar prematurely — a few happy couples who may show up in our next magazine feature! can’t wait!
That is awesome news you two…what an honor! I am so proud of y’all!
