megan and tyson’s engagement session was the first truly cold shoot of the season. funny, we’ve had several quite toasty days since. (that’s georgia weather for you.) but on that day, with a frigid breeze blowing off lake oconee, we really had to snuggle up together to keep cozy. err.. that is to say, megan and tyson snuggled up separately from eileen and me. (i guess a group huddle would have been even warmer. but, alas, photography rule #1: it’s difficult to get good wide shots while snuggling your subjects.) of course, all the closeness made for some beautiful images that, now, make eileen and me feel all warm inside.

we were also ecstatic to shoot megan and tyson’s session at his family’s lake house — a favorite spot of theirs that always inspires rest and relaxation. rather than work, the whole afternoon felt like a much-needed getaway with old friends. thanks for inviting us into your home and into this amazing time in your lives, you two. we enjoyed it tremendously! we can’t wait to celebrate your wedding with you. but before then, we really hope we might celebrate just an average day or two with you as well. we hope to see you soon, and hope you love all your images! y’all were terrific!

did i mention we also did a lot of monkeyin’ around? you won’t believe this, but i actually had planned this shot ahead of time; then, right before i could suggest the idea to tyson, he decided all on his own to do a little “hangin’ around” on this tree branch. i guess it’s true what they say: great minds think alike. (although, from her expression, i’m not sure megan would agree.) 😛

we also couldn’t get enough of this moss-covered boulder. am i imagining it, or does it look like they’re standing on top of the globe!?
