lindsay & adam are engaged! | watson mill state park engagement photography

Filed in:

our evening with lindsay and adam was a perfect may.. err, morning. that’s right. if you happened to notice the sun is on the wrong side of the sky in these images, that’s because these brave souls showed up at the crack of dawn for their glorious morning engagement session. and although eileen and i are not normally morning people, lindsay and adam made it a complete pleasure! i have to say, there is something inspiring about watching the sun peel the night away, something invigorating about the smell of fresh, damp earth. who knows? if more couples began their mornings this way — breathing in nature, soaking in the sunrise and holding each other through the morning — i think the daily grind would begin to feel a lot smoother. heck, i might even become a morning person!

eileen and i were very happy to see how awake and enthusiastic these two were when they arrived before 5:30 am. we had been cautiously treading the shoals for ideal locations since the dark hour of 4:30, to the lights of our cell phones. we’ve had to prep morning shoots in the dark before, including these morning-after-wedding encore session in alabama and st. simons; but never while traversing raging rapids! (unfortunately, no cell phones were injured — or drowned — in the making of this photo shoot. i can’t say we would mourn the loss if we upgraded to iPhones!) adam’s work schedule wouldn’t allow him to get away for a typical day shoot, but he wasn’t gonna let that cost him the chance to capture this special time in his and lindsay’s relationship. (deserving of big brownie points, if you ask me, brother!) the more i think about it — like that sunrise — an engagement really is the dawn of a couple’s married life together. not to be missed. never to be forgotten.

we had a terrific time with you, lindsay and adam. thanks for waking us up and allowing us to share your morning.

i know lindsay and adam look like the perfect couple and everything.. but did i mention they’re actually something of a house divided? that’s right. auburn versus uga. i won’t tell you who i was rooting for during their scrimmage game, but it rhymes with “bluniversity of beorgia.”
