He was confident, but out of his element. James is the kind of guy who never meets a stranger — almost every passerby we met at Roswell Mill became either part of the photo shoot or a new friend. Yet he has never felt the need to be in the limelight in front of the camera. Happily for us, I think he would follow Laura absolutely anywhere. Despite possible misgivings, it took about three seconds flat for these two to fall comfortably into each other’s arms in the warm evening light. We couldn’t be happier with the results, a record of one seriously beautiful relationship.

How did you two meet?
“We met through one of my friends that worked with James. She thought we would be a good fit, so she invited him and his friends to come out and meet us at a bar for a drink one night. The rest is history!”

Laura, how would you describe James?
“James is smart and ambitious. I admire him for how he goes after and gets what he wants. Giving up is never an option. The answer is always to ‘try harder,’ and he pushes me and gives me the courage to do the same. He has one of the most outgoing personalities — he can/does talk to anyone and everyone, often catching strangers off-guard with his wit, which always keeps things entertaining and fun. Underneath the sarcasm and wit, he is the most kind-hearted, caring person. I know there is nothing he wouldn’t do for the well-being and happiness of me and his family. Above all, I respect him. I respect the person he is, the things he accomplishes, the decisions he makes, and the sacrifices he faces. He challenges me and makes me want to be better, and I’m going to spend my life being the best version of ‘me’ because he is by my side.”

James, what comes to mind when you think about Laura?
“When I think about Laura, I think about balance. Ever since I’ve met her, I’ve never felt a greater sense of calm and structure in my life. Everything seems manageable because I have her. Work, sleep, family, fitness… everything feels like it’s finally in balance because I have a true partner. She’s the perfect balance of smart and pretty, organized and spontaneous, sweet and sarcastic. The list could go on forever. The point is, I love her, and I love who I am with her.”

We can’t wait to see (and photograph!) the timeless, chic wedding these two are planning! We know it will be beautiful.. but especially fun with this adventurous and lighthearted duo. Congratulations, James and Laura! Already looking forward to hanging out with you again soon!
