Charles and Kimberly’s wedding was magical. And you should know, I avoid using the term “magical” at almost all costs. So when I say it was magical, it’s because there’s really no other word to describe it. It was the warm yellows and oranges of autumn melting into a winter wonderland — all during the same weekend. It was Vail, Colorado! But most of all, it was two truly amazing people whom Eileen and I have come to adore. I met Charles several years ago, when he attended our church here in Georgia and before he moved to Colorado to develop a very cool app he created, called Scriptive. At that time, Eileen and I were newlyweds and just beginning to play with the idea of “Blume Photography.” So we were incredibly flattered to hear that Charles had followed our studio’s work as it matured over the years. As it turned out, Charles and I also became connected to the same non-profit in Guatemala, where Eileen and I produced the documentary film Lost Boys of Paradise in 2012. In fact, Charles and I flew out and met up in Oklahoma City the week just prior to his and Kimberly’s wedding, where we worked together on Engadi’s new Web site. To our surprise, when Charles called raving about the amazing woman who had walked into his life out in Colorado Springs (you could positively hear the stars in his eyes), Eileen thought she recognized her name. “Oh my goodness! Yes, Kimberly K.! I was at Mercer University with her.” Kimberly’s inspiring personality clearly makes an impression beyond what she is aware. Although they only knew of each other during the year Kim spent at Mercer almost a decade ago, her name immediately sparked Eileen’s memory — a fond memory of the warm smile and easy friendliness that accompany Kim wherever she goes. She hasn’t changed a bit. Now that they’re teamed up, we’re so excited to see what God does through this dynamic duo. It’s hard to imagine more positive energy, enthusiasm, vision, kindness and charity within one family! Congratulations, Charles and Kim. We love you, we already miss you, and we can’t wait to take you up someday soon on that invitation for a Colorado ski trip!
