When I was a kid, I hated the word “precious.” It was my least favorite word in the English language — mostly because a lady at our church called me “precious” and pinched my cheeks every time I saw her. I still don’t use that word often (due to the trauma inflicted). However, as I’ve matured, I guess I’ve come to appreciate its meaning more, to understand the rare and proper place for “precious.” And “precious” is exactly what Eileen’s and my time with Kelli and Brian has been. We’ve been inspired by their pure, passionate love; drawn in by their outlandish sense of humor (mostly blaming Brian on that count) and easy friendliness. We were shocked at their wedding to recognize a number of mutual friends we didn’t realize we shared! I think it’s a sign of how naturally our personalities blended, and how overjoyed we are to have met this precious couple and their precious families. Congrats again, Kelli and Brian! All our best!
How did you two meet?
“Brian and I met through my coworker (she also happens to be the pastor’s wife at the church Brian works at). On Brian’s interview Peggy asked Brian if he was single and told him she had a girl in mind for him. It wasn’t until 6 months later that she finally gave Brian my number. We met on February 8, 2013, for the first time at Jittery Joe’s in Watkinsville, Ga. We ended up talking for hours in Brian’s car since the coffee shop closed at 9pm.”
Kelli, how would you describe the groom?
“Brian is a man of the Lord. He truly devotes his life to learn more about the Bible and seeks to share his faith with others. Brian is a man of integrity and is honest. He is a wonderful encourager and extremely patient. Brian is also a spiritual leader. He also has a great sense of humor and is very silly. It is difficult to be around him and not laugh. He is a wonderful man and I feel extremely blessed to be marrying him.”
Brian, how would you describe your bride?
“Kelli is my best friend. She is a strong woman of God. A woman of virtue and character. It is cliche to say, but Kelli truly is a ‘Proverbs 31 woman.’ She loves and seeks to serve and honor God with her life. Proverbs 31:10 says it best, ‘…she is far more precious than jewels.’ I thank God for this life-long blessing and look forward to a lifetime of pursuing the glory of God with Kelli Rebecca.”
What do you want your friends to say about your wedding?
We want the Lord to be the focus of our ceremony. We also would like for them to say that they had fun and felt comfortable.
