The first happy tears of the day began to fall shortly after Eileen and I arrived. Jason had a note delivered to Emily along with a dozen red roses. Her eyes began to well up as she read it, and soon there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

You could feel it in the air — that it was going to be a wondrous day. Not just a beautiful ceremony, though the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception couldn’t have looked more elegant. Not just a fun reception, though the Georgian Terrace set the stage perfectly. But an absolutely unforgettable, historic day in the life of this amazing couple, who are just perfect for one another by the way. It was full of raw emotion, all of it bubbling to the surface as Emily and Jason — as well as the family and friends who came from far and wide to show their love and support — began to process just how much today represented.

There is truly no celebration like a wedding. What in our lives could possibly be more valuable or worth celebrating? As we’ve spent time with Emily and Jason, it’s been clear to us their love is strong, committed, and sacrificial. We think that kind of relationship is what life boils down to. We couldn’t be happier for these two! They’ve got it all.. and so many more happy tears to come. And this day — this celebration of both the road that brought them here as well as the journey to come — was the perfect way to start.
