Allison and Chris’ wedding was a beautifully classic and elegant affair — and so much fun!! The perfect note on which to end this year. That’s right, this represents our last wedding of 2014. And what an amazing year it was! (Be sure to check back here on the Blume blog soon, by the way; we’re getting ready to celebrate the incoming new year in a very special way you won’t want to miss.) Eileen and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple than Allison and Chris. A word that sums them up for us is “positive.” These two are always bright, energetic and optimistic. From their engagement shoot to the wedding day, that positivity infected everyone around them — making for a hugely fun and inspired day of shooting, and one of the most relaxed and happy wedding days in recent memory.

Another highlight for us was getting to know this couple’s lovely families. Not gonna lie, it was a little bit of a challenge to recall all their names. Chris has five siblings after all, Allison has two herself, and some of them are paired up with families beginning to grow. (I can imagine how loud and crazy their Christmas gatherings might be this season! The more the “merrier Christmas” if you ask us!) We loved them and their antics throughout the day, including Allison’s especially unique father-daughter dance. You just have to catch a glimpse of it below!

The cooler weather and early evening kept us inside much of the day, which can pose a challenge to photographers. But everything came together on the big day — from a glowing sunset during pre-ceremony portraits, to a random shaft of light that shone in through a window and splashed perfectly onto Allison’s wedding gown, to the beautiful interior of Smoke Rise Baptist Church and its many opportunities for creative lighting goodness.

Congratulations again, Allison and Chris! You have so much to look forward to. Enjoy this historic first Christmas together, and keep each other warm.
